We know little about the life of Sebastian Bodinus (1700-1760) who was born in Altenburg.  He served as chamber musician at the court of Wuerttemberg and Kappellmeister at the court of Baden-Durlach.  The gigue was originally written in 3/4 and has been renotated in a modern idiom.
