The AIR FORCE BAND OF THE WEST, Concert March, was written for and dedicated to Lt. Col. Samuel Kurtz, USAF, to coincide with his retirement.  He had served as military band leader for over 21 years, and became nationally known for his work with the Air Force Band of the West, Lackland (San Antonio), Texas.
